“Full Circle could easily be called Fay, distilled. This is the first time I’ve ever made a record that feels like an exact representation of who I am. And I’m damn proud of it”.

FAY BURNS

FAY BURNS

BIO - Fay Burns would’ve never guessed that a TikTok video would change her life, and ultimately, the direction of her musical career. Such was one fateful day when a video showing a time lapsed home renovation, was accompanied by a song from an artist she’d never heard. The song? Music for a Sushi Restaurant. The artist? Harry Styles. This moment marked the beginning of Fay’s reacquaintance with her first, true, musical love - pop music. “That song singlehandedly created a rabbit hole that I gladly fell down, into the world of new, pop. It spoke to me in ways other music had not, in years. It made me feel good, it made me feel happy, it made me feel light - all things that I deeply needed to feel in a time that followed one of the most tumultuous periods of my life”.

From 2010-2020, Fay was one of two parts that made up the musical group, Escaping Pavement. Acting as bandleader, songwriter, and vocalist/guitarist, she graced stages around the country playing to audiences of anywhere from one, to possibly 1,500 people. From festival stages, to prestigious listening rooms and sold-out shows, the band garnered regional acclaim and thrived in the Americana world. When the pandemic hit in 2020, Fay and her partner, parted ways, and Escaping Pavement disbanded.

This ending, coupled with a pandemic, brought about the need for major change within Fay’s life. She created an acoustic trio called Fay Burns and The Embers and began playing shows around the state of MI, but something was amiss. It wasn’t fulfilling the musical love she had known throughout various stages of her career and so badly wanted to find again.

That fateful day that a Harry Styles song came across her TikTok feed was the day she realized, she didn’t have to play Americana music, anymore. There was nothing that was tying her to that genre and this was the time to start anew. The world was her oyster, and she could do whatever she wanted. This was the time for the refresh, the revamp, and the rebirth. And that’s exactly what she did.

The result, is a 4-song EP entitled, Full Circle; a rollicking, pop-laced collection where one might hear influences of Radiohead or Phoebe Bridgers, just as much as Harry Styles, or Tom Petty. Full Circle was recorded over the course of 2023 at Reed Recording Studios in Bay City, MI where Fay worked closely with producer Andy Reed to create this new sound. Full Circle represents the idea that Fay is returning to what she knows best, and what has always been her true musical love. Those familiar with her previous work will hear the growth, the processing, the redemption, the resilience, and the vulnerability that are trademarks of her award-winning songwriting. For both new and former fans, the songs read like diary entries and provide deep insight, sprinkled with dashes of hopefulness, into Fay’s life from 2020-2022. You’ll feel the fiery, feminine, fierceness that is Full Circle and, Fay Burns. “If there’s strength in vulnerability, then this is the strongest I’ve been, yet”……

“She’s a wonderfully talented artist and top shelf collaborator….She’s resilient, humble, and so incredibly talented….She’s focused, driven, and raises the bar….If you get the chance to work with her, take it. We highly suggest seeking it out cause she’s a complete badass with so much class.”
